"Why? Why does everyone underestimate me so?"
I just finished Warriors: The Power of Three "The Sight" just a few days ago, and within the first chapter, I fell in love with this character, Jaypaw.
<Spoilers> His personality to me by far surpasses all the others so far, and carries more weight heavy in comparison to his sister, Hollypaw, and especially his brother, Lionpaw. Being born blind, he has much bitterness at such an excruciating young age which is why I am so attracted to the little guy. I think it also brings up the social issue about the handicapped in general. Should society treat them special/different? Should we ignore their handicap? Notice and express compassion? Or should we even react at all? This is all wrapped up in Jaypaw's outlook, and that he believes every help offered, is because of his blindness; he not only stubbornly rejects, but builds resenment aswell. Any compliment handed to him, he denies prett much "They are just saying that because they feel sorry for me....." And no, I don't think he is emo, but represents the common pain of longing for acceptance and acknowledgement. He's incredible
